Sarah Oakley

Sarah Oakley is from Appleton, Wisconsin. She started playing piano at the age of 5 and has not stopped since. Additionally, she started singing in choir at the age of 8, began studying percussion at age 11 and began studying harp at age 13. Sarah was a member of the Lawrence Academy of Music's Girl Choir program from 2003 to 2011. She also competed in the Wisconsin School Music Association's (WSMA) state Solo and Ensemble Festival from 2008 to 2011. At these festivals, she received numerous honors for her solo piano and duet and ensemble percussion pieces, including the top score for her solo piano performance of George Gershwin's, "Prelude No. 1" at the state-level competition. Sarah sang with both the Varsity Women's Choir and North Choir at her high school, Appleton North, as well as the Women's Chorus at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She also has experience teaching piano to elementary level students and continues to perform as a semi-professional harpist at formal events. Sarah is now a research specialist at the Waisman Center in Madison, Wisconsin with a B.S. in Psychology.
